The whole consists of a straight list and a sculpy edge, which are connected to each other with a linen tire. Originally the side will be used as a decoration of a chalice cloth or of a rug or pillow for household use. At the end of the 20th century it was donated by association Het Kantalet to the Rijksmuseum in honor of the 75th anniversary of the association. A jubilee exhibition was then organized for which the side was mounted by the museum on green velvet.
