STS102-E-5016 (9 March 2001) --- Astronaut James S. Voss, STS-102 mission specialist, perhaps looks toward hisscheduled space walk as he floats on the mid deck of the Space Shuttle Discovery, not far from his space suit.At some point following the scheduled linkup of the Discovery and the International Space Station (ISS), Voss will assume the role of flight engineer for the three-person Expedition Two crew assigned as replacements for the Expedition One trio that has been on the station since early November 2000.

S125-E-006449 (12 May 2009) --- Astronaut Mike Massimino, mission specialist, holds a camera on Atlantis mid deck during the STS-125 flights second day in space. The next several days prove to be very busy for the entire crew, as five spacewalks, two of which will have Massimino leaving the shirt sleeved environment of the shuttle to perform work on the Hubble Space Telescope, are in the offing.

ISS038-E-006669 (22 Nov. 2013) --- Russian cosmonaut Sergey Ryazanskiy, Expedition 38 flight engineer, floats freely while working in the Russian segment of the International Space Station.

ISS008-E-21953 (21 April 2004) --- Astronaut Edward M. (Mike) Fincke (foreground), Expedition 9 flight engineer and NASA ISS science officer, and cosmonaut Gennady I. Padalka of Russia's Federal Space Agency, Expedition 9 commander, spend their first moments in the Zvezda Service Module soon after arriving aboard the International Space Station.

ISS004-E-5190 (December 2001) --- Astronaut Carl E. Walz, Expedition Four flight engineer, floats in the Quest Airlock on the International Space Station (ISS). The image was taken with a digital still camera during early phase of the three-person crews scheduled stay on the orbital outpost.

S135-E-007439 (11 July 2011) --- NASA astronaut Doug Hurley, STS-135 pilot, moves around supplies and equipment in the Leonardo Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM) during the fourth day of flight for Atlantis' four person crew. This module is a component that joined the International Space Station complex after it was flown into space aboard the space shuttle Discovery on STS-133.

(11-15 Nov. 1982) --- Astronaut Joseph P. Allen IV, STS-5 mission specialist, lets a spot-meter float freely for a moment during a period devoted to out-the-window photographs of Earth from orbiting space shuttle Columbia.

STS-79 mission commander William F. Readdy checks the center-line docking camera in the orbiter docking system (ODS) during flight day 3. The camera will be used on flight day 4 to line up the Atlantis for its docking with the Mir space station.

ISS002-E-5493 (31 March 2001) --- Astronaut James S. Massimino, STS-109 mission specialist, looks through an overhead window on the aft flight deck of the Space Shuttle Columbia during the crews final interface with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). The telescope was released at 4:04 a.m. (CST). The image was recorded with a digital still camera.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - In the Orbiter Processing Facility bay 3, STS-120 Pilot George D. Zamka makes a close inspection of the cockpit window on the orbiter Discovery. Seated next to him is Commander Pamela A. Melroy. The STS-120 crew is at Kennedy for a crew equipment interface test, or CEIT, which includes harness training, inspection of the thermal protection system and camera operation for planned extravehicular activities, or EVAs. The STS-120 mission will deliver the Harmony module, christened after a school contest, which will provide attachment points for European and Japanese laboratory modules on the International Space Station. Known in technical circles as Node 2, it is similar to the six-sided Unity module that links the U.S. and Russian sections of the station. Built in Italy for the United States, Harmony will be the first new U.S. pressurized component to be added. The STS-120 mission is targeted to launch on Oct. 20.

S114-E-7003 (4 August 2005) --- Astronaut Charles J. Camarda, STS-114 mission specialist, performs a middeck evaluation of the mechanical "plug" option for Reinforced Carbon-Carbon (RCC) repair aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery. Camarda used special pre-designated tools to accomplish the procedure, along with round thin, flexible 7-inch-diamter carbon-silicon cover plates designed to flex up to 0.25 inch to conform to the wing leading edge RCC panels, a hardware attachment mechanism similar to a toggle bolt and sealant.

ISS028-E-014395 (6 July 2011) --- NASA astronaut Ron Garan, Expedition 28 flight engineer, performs in-flight maintenance on the Mass Constituents Analyzer (MCA) in the Destiny laboratory of the International Space Station.

S114-E-5509 (28 July 2005) --- Astronaut Eileen M. Collins, STS-114 commander, has just opened the hatch that will lead her and the entire Discovery crew into the International Space Station. Astronaut Andrew S.W. Thomas, mission specialist, is partially visible at left edge of frame. This was just one highlight of a very busy day that earlier saw the flawless rendezvous and docking operations between the shuttle and the orbital outpost.

JSC2009-E-155216 (24 Aug. 2009) --- Astronaut Randy Bresnik, STS-129 mission specialist, dons a training version of his Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) spacesuit in preparation for an EMU fit check in the Space Station Airlock Test Article (SSATA) in the Crew Systems Laboratory at NASA's Johnson Space Center. KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - As part of Crew Equipment Interface Test activities, STS-113 Mission Specialists Michael Lopez-Alegria (left) and John Herrington (center) look over equipment that will be carried on the mission. The primary payloads on mission STS-113 are the first port truss segment, P1 Truss, to be attached to the central truss segment, S0, on the International Space Station, and the Crew and Equipment Translation Aid (CETA) Cart B that can be used by spacewalkers to move along the truss with equipment. Once delivered, the P1 truss will remain stowed until flight 12A.1. The mission will also deliver the Expedition 6 crew to the Station and return Expedition 5 to Earth. Space Shuttle Endeavour is scheduled to launch Nov. 10 on the 11-day mission.

ISS004-E-10637 (27 April 2002) --- Soyuz Taxi Flight Engineer Roberto Vittori of the European Space Agency (ESA) moves through the Zvezda Service Modules transfer compartment on the International Space Station (ISS). Vittori and his Soyuz Taxi crewmates, Commander Yuri Gidzenko and South African space flight participant Mark Shuttleworth, arrived at the orbital outpost on April 27, 2002 at 2:56 a.m. (CDT) as the two vehicles flew over Central Asia.

STS111-E-5005 (6 June 2002) --- Astronaut Paul S. Lockhart, STS-111 pilot, consults a check list on the dayprior to rendezvous and docking operations between the Space Shuttle Endeavour and International Space Station (ISS). Lockhart, an alumnus of the 1996 astronaut candidate class marking his first space flight, is seated at the pilot's station on the shuttle's forward flight deck.

ISS034-E-037345 (31 Jan. 2013) --- Canadian Space Agency astronaut Chris Hadfield, Expedition 34 flight engineer, works with Robonaut 2, the first humanoid robot in space, in the International Space Stations Destiny laboratory. R2 was powered up so ground controllers could run it through a series of tests and configuration checks.

ISS007-E-08023 (23 June 2003) --- Astronaut Edward T. Lu, Expedition 7 NASA ISS science officer and flight engineer, performs maintenance on the Interim Resistive Exercise Device (IRED) Assembly in the Unity node on the International Space Station (ISS).

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -- STS-107 Mission Specialist David M. Brown trains on equipment in the training module at SPACEHAB, Cape Canaveral, Fla. Brown and other crew members Commander Rick D. Husband, Pilot William C. McCool, Payload Commander Michael P. Anderson; Mission Specialists Kalpana Chawla and Laurel Blair Salton Clark; and Payload Specialist Ilan Ramon, of Israel, are at SPACEHAB to take part in Crew Equipment Interface Test (CEIT) activities. The CEIT enables the crew to perform certain flight operations, operate experiments in a flight-like environment, evaluate stowage locations and obtain additional exposure to specific experiment operations. As a research mission, STS-107 will carry the SPACEHAB Double Module in its first research flight into space and a broad collection of experiments ranging from material science to life science. STS-107 is scheduled for launch May 23, 2002

iss061e048841 (Nov. 19, 2019) --- NASA astronaut Andrew Morgan works inside Japan's Kibo laboratory module setting up a small satellite deployer loaded with three CubeSats developed by the nations of Japan, Rwanda and Egypt. The deployer was placed inside Kibo's airlock before the Japanese robotic arm grappled it and moved it outside Kibo where it would eject all three CubeSats into Earth orbit.

ISS031-E-157790 (15 May 2012) --- European Space Agency astronaut Andre Kuipers, Expedition 31 flight engineer, floats freely in ESAs "Edoardo Amaldi" Automated Transfer Vehicle-3 (ATV-3) currently docked with the International Space Station.

S122-E-008022 (12 Feb. 2008) --- Astronaut Daniel Tani, STS-122 mission specialist, works in the Harmony module of the International Space Station while Space Shuttle Atlantis is docked with the station.

Astronaut George Zamka, STS-120 pilot, is seated at the pilot's station on the forward flight deck of the Space Shuttle Discovery during rendezvous and docking operations with the International Space Station (ISS). The STS-120 mission launched from Kennedy Space Center's launch pad 39A at 11 38 19 a.m. (EDT) on October 23, 2007. The crew also included Scott E. Parazynski, Douglas H. Wheelock, Stephanie D. Wilson, all mission specialists; Pamela A. Melroy, commander; Daniel M. Tani, Expedition 16 flight engineer; and Paolo A. Nespoli, mission specialist representing the European Space Agency (ESA). Major objectives included the installation of the P6 solar array of the port truss and delivery and installment of Harmony, the Italian-built U.S. Node 2 on the ISS.

The seven-man crew spent most of this day working busily to ready the temporarily-docked International Space Station (ISS) for permanent habitation.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - - STS-107 Payload Specialist Ilan Ramon, from Israel, works on an experiment at SPACEHAB, Cape Canaveral, Fla. With him is Mission Specialist Laurel Clark. STS-107 is a research mission. The primary payload is the first flight of the SHI Research Double Module (SHI_RDM). The experiments range from material sciences to life sciences (many rats).
