These photos show highlights from Artemis II NASA astronauts Victor Glover, Reid Wiseman, and Christina Koch of NASA and CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut Jeremy Hansen visit to NASAs Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, Nov. 27. The crew met and spoke to employees and viewed facilities for SLS (Space Launch System) rocket. All four astronauts signed the Orion stage adapter (OSA), a small ring structure that connects SLS to NASAs Orion spacecraft, that will be used for Artemis II. Koch and Wiseman also visited the Systems Integration Lab, where SLS flight software testing is conducted. The four astronauts will launch atop SLS inside Orion to venture around the Moon on Artemis II, the first crewed flight for Artemis.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. -- In the Orbiter Processing Facility, members of the STS-122 crew get a close look at the landing gear on space shuttle Atlantis. From left are Mission Specialist Hans Schlegel, Pilot Alan Poindexter, Mission Specialists Rex Walheim and Leland Melvin and Commander Stephen Frick. Schlegel represents the European Space Agency. The crew is at Kennedy to take part in a crew equipment interface test, or CEIT, which helps familiarize them with equipment and payloads for the mission. Among the activities standard to a CEIT are harness training, inspection of the thermal protection system and camera operation for planned extravehicular activities, or EVAs. STS-122 is targeted for launch in December.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - Former NASA astronaut Jon McBride, at microphone, addresses the participants in the 2009 Astronaut Glove Challenge, part of NASAs Centennial Challenges Program, at the Astronaut Hall of Fame near NASAs Kennedy Space Center in Florida.The nationwide competition focused on developing improved pressure suit gloves for astronauts to use while working in space. During the challenge, inventors tested the gloves to measure dexterity and strength during operation in a glove box which simulates the vacuum of space. Centennial Challenges is NASAs program of technology prizes for the citizen-inventor. The winning prize for the Glove Challenge is $250,000 provided by the Centennial Challenges Program.

Space shuttle Atlantis touched down on the Shuttle Landing Facility's Runway 33 at 8 48 a.m. EDT, completing a 4.8-million mile mission to the International Space Station. STS-132 carried the Russian-built Mini Research Module-1 to the space station. STS-132 is the 34th shuttle mission to the station, the 132nd shuttle mission overall and the last planned flight for Atlantis.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- In the Space Station Processing Facility at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, STS-134 Mission Specialists Michael Finke and Andrew Feustel check out some of the tools and equipment they'll be using in space. KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. -- STS-116 Commander Mark Polansky disembarks from Space Shuttle Discovery following landing on Runway 15 at NASA Kennedy Space Center's Shuttle Landing Facility, as his fellow astronauts await their turns. During the STS-116 mission, three spacewalks attached the P5 integrated truss structure to the station, and completed the rewiring of the orbiting laboratory's power system. A fourth spacewalk retracted a stubborn solar array. Main gear touchdown was at 5:32 p.m. EST. Nose gear touchdown was at 5:32:12 p.m. and wheel stop was at 5:32:52 p.m. At touchdown -- nominally about 2,500 ft. beyond the runway threshold -- the orbiter is traveling at a speed ranging from 213 to 226 mph. Discovery traveled 5,330,000 miles, landing on orbit 204. Mission elapsed time was 12 days, 20 hours, 44 minutes and 16 seconds. This is the 64th landing at KSC.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - STS-115 Mission Specialist Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper talks to workers in the Space Station Processing Facility. The mission will deliver the second port truss segment, the P3/P4 Truss, to attach to the first port truss segment, the P1 Truss, as well as deploy solar array sets 2A and 4A.. CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - STS-135 Commander Chris Ferguson signs an autograph for an employee inside Kennedy Space Center's Orbiter Processing Facility-2, where space shuttle Atlantis is being prepared for eventual display at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida. STS-135 was the 33rd and final flight for Atlantis and the final mission of the Space Shuttle Program.

It will have emergency abort capability, sustain the crew during space travel and provide safe re-entry from deep space return velocities.
