William Charles Henry Friso (1711-1751) son of Johan Willem Friso and Maria Louisa of Hessekassel, governor of Friesland (since 1711) from Groningen (since 1718) of Drenthe and Gelderland (since 1722), in 1747 due of the invasion of the French in States Flanders, was named governor of all provinces and as captain and admiral-general of never, during his governorship was an end to some abuses in the government, but significant reforms failed to materialise, only the power the governor was greater than it had been before.
