A mystery buyer possibly an Australian paid £900 for an early Dobell painting at auction yesterday.Signing himself "C. Gheysens," he wrote to the auctioneers, Sotheby's, before the sale, saying he was a "private Australian buyer" who intended bidding for the picture.The man who actually bought the picture at the auction called himself C.
