VS22 is a U.S.-only, biennial field training exercise (FTX) focused on integration of joint training in a multi-domain environment. This training builds real-world proficiency in sustaining joint forces through detecting, locating, tracking, and engaging units at sea, in the air, on land, and in cyberspace in response to a range of mission areas.

Blue Ridge is operating with the America Expeditionary Strike Group, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit team in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

The Gerald R. McCampbell and Mustin are two of seven Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers assigned to Destroyer Squadron 15 and are permanently forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan.

Stennis Carrier Strike Group and ships assigned to the Republic of Korea navy, 1st Fleet Maritime Battle Group One, are underway in formation during Maritime Counter Special Operations Force (MCSOF) exercise, which is part of Foal Eagle 2016. Foal Eagle is an annual bilateral training exercise designed to enhance the readiness of U.S. and ROK forces and their ability to work together during a crisis. Providing a ready force supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific, USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) is operating as part of the Great Green Fleet on a regularly scheduled U.S. 7th Fleet deployment.

Littoral combat ships are fast, agile, mission-focused platforms designed to operate in near-shore environments, winning against 21st-century coastal threats. The LCS is capable of supporting forward presence, maritime security, sea control, and deterrence. Jackson is conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations.

Bush (CVN 77) and the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Truxtun (DDG 103) sail in formation alongside the Spanish Navy ships ESPS Juan Carlos I (LHD 61), ESPS Navarra (F 85), and ESP Castilla (L 52) as Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 7 and Spanish harriers perform a flyover during combined operations in the Ionian Sea, Sept. 27, 2022. Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 7 is the offensive air and strike component of CSG-10 and the GHWBCSG.
