The U.S. Military Academy at West Point held its graduation and commissioning ceremony for the Class of 2021 at Michie Stadium in West Point, New York, May 22, 2021. This year, 995 cadets graduated. Among them were 13 international cadets. The class includes 240 women, 148 African-Americans, 78 Asian/Pacific Islanders, 88 Hispanics and 10 Native Americans. There are 152 members who attended the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School (130 men and 22 women). There are 49 class members who are prior service, four of those are combat veterans. In attendance were commencement speaker Secretary of Defense Retired Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III, Acting Secretary of the Army John E. Whitley and Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. James C. McConville.
