Feliks Jasiński dopiero po 4 latach, w roku 1901 postanowił podjąć pracę nad Portretem mężczyzny w zawoju Jana van Eycka. Wówczas powstał, prezentowany tu stan III. Artysta usunął z matrycy całą górną partię kompozycji. Starł rysunek zawoju i tła aż po linię przebiegającą poniżej białego trójkąta pod szyją. Rozpoczął na nowo modelunek twarzy stosując rylec wielokrotny. Jasiński zmarł 8 sierpnia 1901 roku. , Można przypuścić, że odbitki dla ciężko chorego Jasińskiego drukował, zaprzyjaźniony z grafikiem Charles Wittmann, drukarz i właściciel drukarni specjalizującej się w odbijaniu belles epreuves. Firma Wittmanna współpracowała z wydawcą Jules Hautecoeurem, który od wielu lat zamawiał ryciny u Jasińskiego. Potwierdza to także fakt, że odbitka została wydrukowana na papierze firmowym Charlesa Wittmanna z filigranem: Ch.Wittmann. Wydawnictwa i drukarnie specjalizujące się w publikowaniu luksusowych rycin belles epreuves, dbając także o jakość papieru, zamawiały dla swoich potrzeb specja
