His Twisting Curves Helped Giants to Top. Ferdie Schupp, the New York Giant's star southpaw, is a mighty important cog in McGraw's baseball machine. Schupp's efforts on the mound have resulted in many Giant victories. His presence in the box is usually conceded an assurance of victory by the rival team long beofre the fray is over. Schupp is a McGraw product. He warned the bench for several seasons finishing games that had been hopelessly lost, but always learning the tricks of t the big show. Lastseason Schupp gave the fans the first glimpse of his greatness. During the Giant's long successive run of victories Schupp accumulated a little string of his own. One of the features of his games was the small scoring percentage his opponents made. He usually let them down on the average of five hits per game. Schupp continued his excellent work this season, although for a short period this year, he seemed to have lost his effectiveness. Just how important, Schupp will be in the World's Serie
