Lazio Roma Rome S. Ignazio di Loyola61. Hutzel, Max 1960-1990 Church was built 1625-50, based on a project by Maderno. Exterior photos of facade, rooftops and portal, with details of capitals. Interior views of the nave; however, the majority of the photos are of the paintings in the vaults and chapels. Frescoes include the Entry of S. Ignatius into Heaven and the Four Parts of the World. There are also frescoes of Samson, David, Judith and Joel. In the transept are frescoes relating to St. Louis and to the Glory of S. Ignatius. She was More Beautiful Than Dreams, plate seven from Love 1898-1899 France. These 12 prints come from Love, a series of color lithographs that form a disjointed narrative about a woman who experiences love, although it is unclear if she is falling in love with a man, nature, or her faith. Each soft and dreamlike image is paired with a caption of fragmented poetry that serves as its title, but these phrases do not directly describe their corresponding images. Maurice Denis, who was also a writer, crafted these puzzling yet evocative captions to add layers of meaning through the interplay of text and image.. Date: 1828.The Boston portraitist Sarah Goodridge painted this intimate self-portrait for the statesman Daniel Webster in 1828, the year of his first term as U.S. Senator. Their association is documented in forty-four letters that Webster wrote to Goodridge between 1827 and 1851. Webster sat for her at least twelve times over two decades, and she visited him in Washington, D.C.--the only time she is known to have left Boston. This provocative twist on the traditional lover's eye miniatures so popular in London demonstrates the artist's command of nuances of light and shadow and glowing tones captured through the use of transparent washes of watercolor on ivory.
