The Commander of Provincial Reconstruction Team Kapisa, U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Curtis Velasquez, hands out a few ink pens in the village of Malikar in the province of Kapisa, Afghanistan. Small things like ink pens make a positive impact on local children and help bridge the gap between coalition forces and the Afghan people. The PRT routinely performs missions throughout Kapisa to interact and engage with local leaders. The PRT's mission is to stabilize the region by enabling local governments to care for, educate, employ and protect their people through the construction of basic infrastructure and mentorship.
