Zardozi and Karchupi motif artisans, mainly from the Bihari community in Chittagong city, remain busy working to meet the demand in markets ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr festival in 2025. Traditional Zardozi and Karchupi artisans are now struggling due to the low prices of machine-made embroidery from India and other Asian countries, rising costs, and declining demand, which threaten their craft in Bangladesh. If things continue this way without government support, these intricate embroidery techniques face an uncertain future.
