Rugby Union Test ***** Colin Windon nominated for coach of Randwick club. Randwick firsts last year were coached by Gordon Stone. Windon is the greatest breakaway forward Australia has produced since the war. In 1946, 1949 and 1952 Windon toured New Zealand. he made the tour of the British Isles, France, Canada and America with the 1947-48 Australian team. Zatopek Seeks More Gold Medals -- Czechoslovakia's sensational Emil Zatopek, first gold medalist of the 1952 Olympics, with his javelin throw ***** wife, Dana, in Helsinki, Finland. Zatopek, who cracked his own Olympic record when winning the 10,000 metres in 20 minutes 17 seconds on Sunday, now plans to run in the 5,000 metres and the Marathon. July 21, 1952. Fastest Of Them All Grand Prix Won By Italian -- G. Farina, of Italy all smiles and garlanded with flowers, after he had won the Grand Prix of Europe on the Silverstone circuit before a record crowd of nearly 200,000, among whom were the King and Queen Princess Margaret. The winner drove an Alfa Romeo, as did his countryman Fagioli, who came second, and Reg. Purnell, who was third. The Grand Prix is Britain's biggest car racing event of the year. May 20, 1950.
