Turner And Lion Cub Mascot, After Making Unsuccessful Attack On Trans-Continental Flight Record. Captain Roscoe Turner, with his lion cub Mascot, pictured here after they had landed at 8:40 last night. At the conclusion of their one-stopplight from Los Angeles. Turner and "Gilmore" the Mascot sought to create a new one-stop record for the continental crossing, but due to unfavorabale weather encountered the pair landed 46 minutes beyond the time set by Col. And Mrs. Lindbergh. Lack of Gas forced turner to land at Curtiss instead of at Roosevelt field. Lindbergh's time for the hop was 14 hours 45 and a half minutes. May 14, 1930.
