The album contains 102 cartes-de-visiting and 3 cabinet photos in with golden lines framed rectangular and oval passe-partouts. Not all passe-partouts in the album are filled. Portraits of young men are depicted, presumably students. In a large part of the photos, a name is written on the back, presumably from the portrayed person. The name is known from 11 of the people portrayed, including Arnold Cornelis Maas Geesteranus and Cornelis Hoogendijk. The majority of the photos were made in Leiden, by the photographers Jan Goedeljee, A. Th. Baert, Antonius Joannes van der Stok and Hendrik Jonker. The other photos are made in other places in the Netherlands. The photographer is anonymous of 2 photos.
