Rising Vertically, a Coast Guard helicopter moves from the surface of the sea toward the nearest hospital in a simulated rescue to prove the effectiveness of the helicopter in this role. UF-2G "Albatross". A U.S. Coast Guard UF-2G amphibious plane wearing an easily visible paint scheme flies out of Honolulu on a search and rescue mission. Built by Grumman Aircraft Corp., the UF-2G is an all weather, high-wing, twin-engine, medium-range sea plane equipped with a fixed wing tip afoat. Although its primary mission is search and rescue, it is also useful for transporting personnel and cargo, for medical evacuation, and general utility. The UF-2G is a modified UF-1G with increase wing span, a cambered leading edge to wing tip, improved wing and tail de-icing systems, and other features which improve efficiency.
