A portrait of Mr. Macready as Wallace, the Hero of Scotland, created in 1828. The artwork is part of Fairburn's portraits and measures 24 x 19.5 cm. It was issued in London and features William Charles Macready, an actor from Great Britain, who lived from 1793 to 1873

Soldier waits with a stir which brings his wick to his mouth to blow him clean; Corte Underswsinghe on the figuerliicke figure, straightforward t'ruwe Ghebruyck des Roers. A soldier waiting, full, to the right, holding a stir (a certain type of firearm) with his left hand. With his right hand he brings a burning wick to his mouth to blow him clean. It is therefore about the same position as the person shown on the sixth print of the series. This print is part of the series of 42 hand-numbered prints of stirrers in the arms opera. Copy is printed on this.

"Fig. 3 shows a Vandal. He is distinguished from the others by his helmet, decorated on two sides with sharp points, and a cloak (chlamys) fashioned in the manner of the Romans. His shield is made of wood.". "In the opinion of Schloezer, the Vandals gave birth to the Goths. According to other writers, the two peoples were mixed together. They lived north of the Danube, in Moravia and Hungary, ravaged the Gauls, and founded in north Africa an empire that Belisarius destroyed under the emperor Justinian in 533.". "Fig. 4 shows a Gepide. The Gepides, who took their origin from the Goths, lived around the mouth of the Vistula and founded an empire in Trajan's Dacia until it was destroyed by the Lombards in 565.". The Gepide wears a helmet, breastplate and thigh armour, carries a lance with a spiked head and a fearsome curved sword. Two Lansquenets 1513 Circle of Erhard Altdorfer German Pictures of splendidly dressed soldiers in poses designed to show off their costumes and weaponry became extremely popular in Europe at the end of the fifteenth century. By the early sixteenth century, these military depictions were all the rage in southern Germany and Switzerland. The Nuremberg Chronicle is an illustrated world history. Its structure follows the story of human history as related in the Bible; it includes the histories of a number of important Western cities. Written in Latin by Hartmann Schedel, with a version in German translation by Georg Alt, it appeared in 1493. It is one of the best-documented early printed books. It is classified as an incunabulum - that is, a book, pamphlet, or broadside that was printed (not handwritten) before the year 1501 in Europe. It is also one of the first to successfully integrate illustrations and text. Latin scholars refer to it as Liber Chronicarum (Book of Chronicles) as this phrase appears in the index introduction of the Latin edition. English speakers have long referred to it as the Nuremberg Chronicle after the city in which it was published.
