WESTERN ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 17, 2022) Sailors aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Lassen (DDG 82) conduct firefighting training during UNITAS LXIII, Sept. 17, 2022. UNITAS is the worlds longest-running maritime exercise. Hosted this year by Brazil, it brings together multinational forces from Brazil, Cameroon, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico, Namibia, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, Uruguay, and the United States conducting operations in and off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. The exercise trains forces to conduct joint maritime operations through the execution of anti-surface, anti-submarine, anti-air, amphibious and electronic warfare operations that enhance warfighting proficiency and increase interoperability among participating naval and marine forces.

In the initial attack on the aircraft fire, firefighters move in with fire hoses to suppress the aircraft fire and then rescue an occupant of the aircraft. Idaho Army National Guard Firefighters practiced a series of fire fighting drills during an external evaluation of their skills. The evaluation exercise was directed as a drill for Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting. The firefighters are soldiers from the 937th and 938th Engineer Fire Fighting Teams, who are part of the 939th Engineer Fire Fighting Detachment. The drills took place on the Orchard Combat Training Center located south of Boise, Idaho.

SCHRIEVER SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The 50th Civil Engineer Squadron's Fire Department, provided vehicle extraction training to two members of the Schriever SFB Colorado leadership team. During the training, conducted 3 October, 2022 at the fire training area, Space Base Delta 1 Operating Location Schriever Commander, U.S. Air Force Colonel Randy Combs and 50th CES Commander, Lt. Col Monica Pickenpaugh, donned firefighter gear and operated tools to become familiar with one critical firefighter duty.

In the fourth episode of Behind the Triad, Fort McCoy Garrison Commander Colonel Stephen Messenger visits the Fort McCoy Fire Department and meets with Assistant Fire Chief Hunter Young to take part in the firefighting Physical Agility Test. The test consists of 10 sequential events that require firefighter to progress along a pre-determined path from event to event in a continuous manner, the test is a timed event and conducted in full firefighter PPE (turn out gear) and SCBA while on air.
