GREAT LAKES, Il. Opened in 1911, NSGL is the Navys largest training installation and the home of the Navys only Boot Camp. NAVAL BASE GUAM (Sept. 12, 2022) - First Responders from Joint Region Marianas (JRM) Emergency Services along with Commander, Joint Region Marianas Rear Adm. Benjamin Nicholson, and U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) Commanding Officer Capt. Michael Luckett observed the 21st anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks during a ceremony at Fire Station 1 onboard NBG, Sept. 12. Firefighters, paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), police officers, Chief Petty Officers (CPO), and CPO Selects from throughout the region participated in the ceremony to pay tribute to the lives of 343 firefighters, 62 law enforcement officers, eight emergency medical technicians, and 2,581 civilians who were lost during the attacks. The ceremony included 10 full blasts from the airhorns symbolizing the signal made to evacuate the World Trade Center, followed by a moment of silence. An event like the Montana Military Open House /Flight Over the Falls could not occur without volunteers willing to step up and do the hard work to support the event. From providing first aid to hauling trash to selling souvenirs and running the concession booths, these Airmen, Soldiers and family members made the open house a success - increasing public awareness, trust, and understanding of the military, inspiring patriotism, maintaining our reputation as a good neighbor within our community, as wellas a respected and professional organization charged with the responsibility of national security.

The 104th Fighter Wing hosted local 4-H members for a base tour on July 8, 2022 at Barnes Air National Guard Base, Massachusetts. U.S. Soldiers with the 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade host a Spouse Lift event for spouses of the brigades Soldiers. Spouses were given tours of the brigades flight facilities and flights in CH-47 Chinook and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters as a token of appreciation for their support. The event was held at the brigades flight facilities at Muir Army Airfield at Fort Indiantown Gap and John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport at Johnstown. Participants at Fort Indiantown Gap were given flights around the greater Harrisburg, Hershey and Blue Mountain area. Participants at Johnstown were given flights around the scenic Laurel Highlands of the Alleghenies.

Opened in 1911, NSGL is the Navys largest training installation and the home of the Navys only Boot Camp. Located on over 1600 acres overlooking Lake Michigan, the installation includes 1,153 buildings with 39 on the National Register of Historic Places. NSGL supports over 50 tenant commands and elements as well as over 20,000 Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, and DoD civilians who live and work on the installation.
