04/30/1982. Despeñaperros, Jaén.- For the traveler who goes by road or rail from the Castilian plateau to Andalusia or vice versa, the Despeñaperros pass has been a mandatory route since the time of King Carlos III. In the 80s, its passage still constituted a real "bottleneck".
