Battle of SoleBay, 7 June 1672, 1672 print The Battle of Solebay on 7 June 1672 between the State fleet under Michiel de Ruyter and the English-French fleet under the Duke of York and the Vice Admiral Jean II d'Estrees. A leaf is stuck under the performance with a description of the events in three columns. At the end of the text is a statement of the performance in which the individual ships are identified. The print is printed from a plate that was originally manufactured in 1666 for a performance of the four-day sea battle between the Dutch and English on 11-14 June 1666 (FMH 2234).
