US Civil War. Confederate Tennessee Campaign, Oct. 1 Nov. 30, 1864. After leaving Atlanta to the occupation of Union forces, Hood took his army north to attack Federal supply lines from Tennessee. On Nov. 30th, Hood attacked fortified position of Union Gen. Schofield at Franklin, TN. In what came to be called 'The Pickett's Charge of the West', he lost over 6,000 soldiers as casualties, effectively destroying the Confederate Army of Tennessee (BSLOC_2018_9_82)

Boston Massacre, 1875, published in 1875 by Heppenheimer & Maurer, lithographers. On March 5, 1770, mob attacked a British sentry in Boston. Capt. Thomas Preston's men were harassed when they arrived on the scene. Soldiers fired into the crowd, killing three people on the scene, with two later dying from their wounds (BSLOC_2019_3_53)
