Yugoslavs Arrive with 1¼ Tons of CostumesDragan Kalapis and Vera Jolic perform a Croatian dance in we sunshine on the roof of the Cambridge Theatre this afternoon. Last night the 45 members of the Yugoslav Ballet team arrived in London bringing with them some 250 costumes weighing 1¼ tons. Their show "Slavonic Rhapsody" opens at the Cambridge Theatre on Monday and will be on for five weeks. This afternoon they were busy with rehearsals. May 16, 1952. S74-28666 (14 Sept. 1974) --- Cosmonaut Aleksey A. Leonov, in one of the lighter moments of activity involving Soviet cosmonauts and American astronauts, joins a belly dancer on stage as several visitors to weekend activity at the site of San Antonio s HemisFair look on. Leonov is commander of the Soviet Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) crew. A group of cosmonauts is in this country training with American astronauts for the joint U.S.-USSR ASTP rendezvous and docking mission scheduled for the summer of 1975. The Lebanese dancing was just one feature among many during the Texas Folklife Festival, in which members of 26 ethnic groups participated.

Future ballerinas - aged between 9 and 12 - faced their biggest test yet in Melbourne when they took British Ballet Organisation examinations. Isobel Cottell and Margaret Herbert (top) peeked. October 02, 1951.
