Cartoon at Kolonel Borremans, 1831. Cartoon on the Colonel Borremans, a former brewer, who tried to achieve a counter-revolution in the favor of the Prince of Orange in March 1831. In a large wooden barrel, Colonel is borremans to make the spinning wheel brushes. Due to a window, he gets from King Willem I a change for 4000 guilders. The Great Triumphal Car of Emperor Maximilian, 1523. Albrecht Dürer (German, 1471-1528). Woodcut; Dürer conceived this fantastical chariot as part of a larger commission to depict Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I (reigned 1486-1519) in a triumphal procession. The ruler sits enthroned in the lavish car, as Victory holds a laurel wreath above his imperial crown. Her feathered wings list Maximilians military campaigns. Nearly every component of the allegorical pageant—from the entourage of female attendants to the laurel garlands—has a Latin label describing honorable qualities of an ideal prince. The car rolls on wheels of Magnificence, Honor, Dignity, and Glory. Its driver is Reason, who guides a team of 12 horses with reins of Nobility and Power. Virtues of Justice, Strength, Wisdom, and Temperance, stand on pedestals arranged around the emperor. Maximilian died in 1519, before the ambitious commission could be completed. Speculum Romanae Magnificentiae: Column of Dilius and Obelisque Fountain 1575 Anonymous This print comes from the museums copy of the Speculum Romanae Magnificentiae (The Mirror of Roman Magnificence) The Speculum found its origin in the publishing endeavors of Antonio Salamanca and Antonio Lafreri. During their Roman publishing careers, the two foreign publishers - who worked together between 1553 and 1563 - initiated the production of prints recording art works, architecture and city views related to Antique and Modern Rome. The prints could be bought individually by tourists and collectors, but were also purchased in larger groups which were often bound together in an album. In 1573, Lafreri commissioned a title page for this purpose, which is where the title ‘Speculum Romanae Magnificentiae first appears. Lafreri envisioned an ideal arrangement of the prints in 7 different categories, but during his lifetime, never appears to have offered one standard, bound set of prints. Instea

The highly ornamented second gondola of Francesco Antonio Berka entering Venice, Gods on clouds in the upper section 1700 Johann Georg Wolfgang Liberal Benaglia was responsible for the design of the gondola. It is not certain if he provided the design for the print, but it is possible.
