New London Boathouse on Regatta Day. The cool breezes shown whipping the penants on the Coast Guard Academy would feel better in the summer than these days. The Academy is here playing host to members of intercollegiate sail racing organizations. Sailing is an important sport in New London.

Steamboat B.U.The plate was a combined passenger and cargo vessel. Built in 1871 and was named after the Göta Canal Creator Baltzar von Platen.

Gufa and Bellum boats awaiting hire on the River Tigris, which splits Baghdad, Iraq, in half. A gufa is a circular boat propelled by a pole or single paddle, rather like a coracle. This model represents a Baghdad gufa from 1930. The round basketry hull is constructed from ribs of wood from the pomegranate tree, interwoven with rope made from date-palm leaves and a rail of tamarisk roots. The outer surface of the gufa is made watertight by a coating of bitumen. Date: circa 1920

A London Park "Showboard" -- Barking's Own "showboat," the "Phoenix," off on a trip round the lake. Local kiddies at Barking, Essex, don't need to go far for a ride in a "paddle-steamer." The local Council have installed a small steamer on Barking Park lake, and for 3d. the kiddies are taken for a ride round the lake. The submarine runs during test trip in 1962 .... and again occupy surface position.Peter Skanze from the association has in contacts with the Historical Museum's manager Hans-Lennart Ohlsson expressed that the gift is aimed at the Maritime History Museum, while in the donation letter a "desire to the album ends up at any museum with a focus on our marine heritage".At sea-historical, there is already an extensive collection of photographs from Kockum's MV.Since the images show the warships fit the album better in Marine Museum Karlskrona's gathering area and was therefore added to Marine Museum's collections.

A river motor boat, used to travel along the numerous canals and water-ways of Belgium and Northern France for the transport of provisions, ammunition, mail and even troops, as well as towing strings of laden barges. In 1916, there were around 170 such boats engaged with a personnel of 450 German officers and men. The boat shown is S. M. S. Zander, one of a batch of 43 foot steel boats delivered by the Anker Yard in Berlin. Date: 1917

Seattle, Washington: c. 1961. The Aqua-Jet on Lake Washington, a jet engine powered experimental speed boat made by Boeing. It is 38 feet long with a 17 foot beam, can reach speeds of 100 knots (115 mph), and is powered by an Allison J-3 turbojet with 4600 pounds of thrust.

The Grace Darling Boat. Grace Horsley Darling used this boat to save people from the wreck of the SS Forfarshire in 1838 along with her father. She became an English Heroine for this act. 1883
