Coast Guard Buoy Doctors Haul in a "Patient". Servicing light buoys along the coastal waters of the United States is one of the U.S. Coast Guard's many aids to navigation, whether it is a time of war or peace. Here, a light buoy is hoisted to the deck of a Coast Guard buoy tender for overhauling and repairs. These lights must be kept burning to guide ships carrying the materiel with which the Allied victory is to be won.

Parish Priest- the work of the Vicar of St Mark's Church, Victoria Docks, Silvertown, London, England, UK, 1944 During a visit to a jam factory near his church, (probably Tate and Lyle in Silvertown), Reverend Joseph Stevens accompanies factory workers down into their air raid shelter as the siren sounds. The women carry their trays of strawberries with them to the shelter so that they can continue with their work. The original caption states that 'the vicar, some time previously, had arranged a concert of classical music in the factory and the girls want to know when he will arrange another. They raise money for his Sunday school treats by raffling a doll every year'. The sun is shining on the River Thames which is clearly visible in the background.
