Soldiers from Alpha Company, 125th Infantry Regiment, Michigan National Guard secure a landing zone for Bravo Company, 1-147 Aviation, Michigan National Guard during an infiltration/exfiltration mission at Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center July 23, 2015 as part of Exercise Northern Strike 2015. Northern Strike will combine ground and air capabilities that will bring together aircraft from more than a dozen units and service members from 25 states and four coalition countries from July 23 to August 1 on Camp Grayling, Alpena and in Rogers City. NS15 is the only exercise of this size and scope for the Michigan Guard and will integrate ground based weapon systems like mortars and artillery with attack aircraft to support maneuver forces on the ground.

WESTERN ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 13, 2022) Sailors aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Lassen (DDG 82) conduct flight operations with an MH-60R Romeo attached to Navy Helicopter Squadron Spartans (HSM) 70, during UNITAS LXIII, Sept. 13, 2022. UNITAS is the worlds longest-running maritime exercise. Hosted this year by Brazil, it brings together multinational forces from Brazil, Cameroon, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico, Namibia, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, Uruguay, and the United States conducting operations in and off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. The exercise trains forces to conduct joint maritime operations through the execution of anti-surface, anti-submarine, anti-air, amphibious and electronic warfare operations that enhance warfighting proficiency and increase interoperability among participating naval and marine forces.

PACIFIC OCEAN (April 4, 2023) - U.S. Sailors prepare to launch an F/A-18E Super Hornet, assigned to the Vigilantes of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 151, from the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), April 4, 2023. Theodore Roosevelt is conducting a flight deck certification with the Black Aces of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 41, the Tophatters of VFA-14, the Rough Raiders of VFA-125, the Vigilantes of VFA-151, and the Eightballers of Helicopter Sea Combat (HSC) 8 ahead of an upcoming deployment workup cycle. The ship recently completed an 18-month maintenance availability, receiving extensive restorations and upgrades.

African Lion 22 is U.S. Africa Command's largest, premier, joint, combined annual exercise hosted by Morocco, Ghana, Senegal, and Tunisia, June 6 - 30. More than 7,500 participants from 28 nations and NATO train together with a focus on enhancing readiness for U.S. and partner-nation forces. AL22 is a joint all-domain, multi-component, and multinational exercise, employing a full array of mission capabilities with the goal to strengthen interoperadurbility among participants and set the theater for strategic access.
