He Meets The Regimental Dog - The Regimental dog "Sam" greets a reservist with a friendly "paw" shake at Bulford Camp, Salisbury Plain, England. The reservist is Leslie Rimmer of widnes, Lancashire. He was demobbed in 1947 but has been called back to the 1st Battalion the King's Own Royal Regiment for fourteen days training. Under the Z scheme reservists are called back for special training so that Britain can be prepared in case of an emergency. During their training they will do no fatigues. Civilians have been engaged to do the potato peeling,  floor scrubbing, and other jobs, so that the while 14 days can be spent training. April 30, 1951. (Photo by Paul Popper, Paul Popper Ltd.).
