On May 4th, 3000 students from 13 schools in Beijing assembled in front of Tiananmen Square, demanding to abolish "Twenty-One", they exclaimed slogans such as: "Struggling for national power abroad, punishing thieves at home" and protested after the meeting. The May Fourth Movement thus began. "Twenty-One", or Twenty One Demands, was a set of demands made by Japan during World War I, which greatly extend control over China. The May Fourth Movement was a Chinese anti-imperialist, cultural, and political movement that grew out of student protests in Beijing on May 4, 1919.

Illustration showing the Kronstadt Rebellion or Kronstadt mutiny of 1921. This insurrection by Soviet sailors, soldiers and civilians of the port city of Kronstadt against the Bolshevik government, was the last major revolt against the Bolshevik regime on Russian territory during the Russian Civil War that ravaged the country. The revolt began on March 1, 1921 in the city's naval fortress, located on the island of Kotlin in the Gulf of Finland. For sixteen days, the rebels rose in opposition to the Soviet government they had helped to consolidate.
