. 8 Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps Captain Lee was killed in action, aged 20, on 24 August 1917 during the Battle of Passchendaele. He is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial. Captain Lee's father, Brigadier General Noel Lee, was also a casualty of the First World War. Brigadier General Lee commanded the Manchester Regiment during 1906-1911. During the early months of the First World War, he served on the General Staff and as Commanding Officer of 127 (Manchester Territorial Force) Brigade, 42 Division. Brigadier General Lee died on 22 June 1915, aged 48, of wounds received during the Battle of Krithia and is buried at Pieta Military Cemetery in Malta. Portrait of a member of the SD; NSB. Portrait of a member of the SD. It concerns the Dutchman Jan Meekhof (see inscription back). Member of the SD, (German) Sicherheitsdienst. Distinctives don't see, only shoulder cover. As SD, he was involved in various actions against the resistance. For example, he belonged to the fireprooton that 20 Frisians shot on January 26, 1945 in Dokkum as a reprisal. On January 29, 1945 he shot the resistance man Johannes Kolf who resisted his arrest. On December 8, 1944, flask was involved in the robbery on the crowds in Leeuwarden. Johannes "Jodocus" Kolf (1916) worked at the police in Utrecht from 1937 to 1942. He resigned because he could not unite with the work of the police under the German occupation. He was then active in the resistance. He died 29 years old.

Lieutenant William Leefe Robinson, a member of the RFC No. 39 Home Defence Squadron, shot down a German airship on 2nd September 1916 above Hertfordshire. The British public had feared that German airships were impregnable and Leefe Robinson's feat earned him his Victoria Cross shortly afterwards.
