The British Locomotive Building Industry- the Production of Railway Locomotives, UK, 1945 Foundrymen use a five ton steam hammer to forge connecting rods for locomotives from 12'square blooms at a large locomotive works, somewhere in Britain.

Below The Boulevards -- Workers clean a collector with a "sluice car". It is used to serape canals or pipes of sand and dirt accumulated by polluted water. The panel at the forepart of the car pushes sand or dirt while water flows through an aperture at the bottom. The remaining dirt is washed away by a strong stream of clean water. January 07, 1954.
