This 2,071 LB, white pointer shark was caught by Mr. Jim Veitch, Port Lincoln big game fisherman, at McCallum's Rock, eight miles from Port Lincoln, on Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Veitch will claim it as an all-class tackle world record. He caught it on a 50-80 lb test class line, equivalent to a 24-thread line.
