The walls of the room are covered in Chinese wallpaper, which, according to the original caption, is very valuable. In the background, two nurses, both wearing surgical masks, tend to a baby in a cot next to its mother's bed.

New War Opens on Factory Front- X-ray Screening For Tuberculosis, London, England, 1943 Wearing the chest covers provided and their overalls as dressing gowns, female factory workers are measured for chest thickness as a guide to x-ray exposure. According to the original caption, these clothes were made by nurse trainees. 'These garments are designed with a view to economy of material but with due consideration to health and wellbeing'.
