Cardinal Griffin Makes His Soleman Entry In Westminister Cathedral - Cardinal Griffin seated on his chair in Westminister, Cathodral, London, during the 'Red Hat' ceremony.About 7000 people were in 'Westminster Cathedral, London, when Cardinal Griffin made his solemn entry for the first time as Cardinal, on his return from Rome, where he received the Red Hat at the Papal Consistory. The Red Hat which he received in Rome was carried in procession before him as he made his way to the high altar to address the congregation gathered in the Cathedral. The new Cardinal is the youngest Westminister has ever had. March 11, 1946.
