London, Tuesday. - Workington Rugby League Club has signed up Sydney lifesaver Bill Bailey, despite the ban on Australian players joining English clubs.Bailey has a clearance from Australia to play in England and apparently has outwitted the Australian Board of Control.Bailey and his father were interviewed by Australian officials before leaving for England, and Bailey stated that he was going to England to study.English Rugby League experts hail Bailey's signing as a test case which is likely to cause the collapse of the poaching ban.
