Launching At Belfast -- The 'Bloemfontein Castle' passing down the slipway at the yard of Messrs Harland and Wolff, Belfast, when she was launched to-day. Mrs. Leif Egeland, wife of the high commissioner for South Africa, to-day (Thursday) performed the naming ceremony of the 17,800 tons Union Castle liner 'Bloemfontein Castle' which was launched at the Belfast yard of Messrs Harland and Wolff. The liner-she is the third to be built for the company at Belfaat since the war-will replace the 'Dunvegan Castle' which was sunk by a U-boat during the war. August 25, 1949. (Photo by Reuterphoto).
