Charles Spencer in the Goldrush 1925. Chaplin (1889-1977) was an English actor, comedian and filmmaker who rose to fame in the silent era. Chaplin became a worldwide icon through his screen persona 'the Tramp' and is considered one of the most important figures in the history of the film industry.

Her story is set in Sydney, but the scene could be in any city or big town. Actress Janne Coghlan, who played the role of a delinquent girl in Pick-up at Sydney's Independent Theatre, symbolises in these pictures the Carol Browns so familiar in this modern world of ours. February 21, 1955.
