Sevilla faced Sporting Lisbon in the first UEFA Cup tie of the 1983-84 season. The first leg, played at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium, ended with a 1-1 draw. In the second leg, played at the José Alvalade stadium in the Portuguese capital, the Portuguese won 3-2, qualifying for the next round. The winning goal that qualified Sporting was scored in the last minute, in an unfortunate play by ASevilla65ntonio Álvarez, who scored into his own goal. In the image, Serna, Paco and Sanjosé, upset, during the post-match dinner at the Jose Alvalade stadium. The players barely tried the food, discouraged by the unfair result of the tie.
