McDonald Bailey Smashes Inter-Counties Record For 220-Yards At White City British GamesE. McDonald Bailey (Middlesex). sets up a new inter-countries as he comes in to win heat one of the 220 yards event on the second day of the British Games held at the White city Stadium here. His time was 21.5 seconds.Two weeks" ago, McDonald Bailey ran the 220-yards in 21.1 seconds on this track - but there were not enough watches there to recognise his record- breaking feat. Group Captain Donald 'Don' Osborne Finlay, (1909 1970). British athlete and Royal Air Force officer. represented Great Britain in three Olympics both pre- and post-World War II. He returned to the 1936 Summer Olympics held in Berlin, Germany where he improved to win the silver medal in the 110 metre hurdles.
