No "Basic" Needed -- Mr. Bullock on his electric cycle. It is absolutely noiseless, climbs steep hills, and has only one fault - it develops too much speed to easily on the flat!Determined not to be deprived of mechanical locomotion by the abolition of basic petrol, Mr. Tom Bullock, of Berrington street, Herreford, has devised a method of transport which will be envied by errand boys. It is an electric bicycle driven by a 12 volt car battery. He bought a second-hand bicycle, fixed a small carriage on it to carry battery and starter-motor; the machine is chain driven, has lights and a born powered off the same battery. January 13, 1948. An ingenious device for teaching beginners the rudiments of controlling an aeroplane in 1931. The little machine which flies in a strong draught of air ejected from the cylinder on the left, is connected by a rod to the table and by a universal joint to the rod. Every movement of the hands on the joystick and the feet on the rudder bar is registered on the machine exactly as it would be during an actual flight. The pupil here is Dorothy Jordan, the well-known Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film actress.
