Degree Nisi for Mr. Anthony Eden -- Leaving her New York apartment for a shopping tour is Mrs. Eden, whose husband, Mr. Anthony Eden, deputy leader of the Opposition Party in the House of Commons, was granted a decree nisi in the Divorce Court (London) today (Thursday) on the grounds of desertion by his wife who has been in America since January 1947. They were married in November, 1923. Their elder son, Pilot Officer Simon Eden, was killed in Burma in 1945. There is one other son Nicholas. June 08, 1950.

Madame Parachute' U.S. Visitor -- Elizabeth (Brigitte) Friang, 30, who at 15 joined the French resistance against the Germans and now a newspaper woman who has made several parachute jumps over Indochina, arrives in San Francisco today aboard a Panamerican clipper from the far east. It is her first trip to the United States and would like to tour the nation by bus so she could really get to know its people. Some 20,000 Frenchmen whistled, but couldn't care less about her work in the ring because French law forbids killing of bulls.
