Failed national Dutch traditional costume, 1831; National clothing contract. Cartoon on the failed attempts by the Amsterdam poet and sugar refineanteur W.H. Warnsinck to introduce national Dutch costumes during the Belgian rebellion, July 10, 1831. Street scene in which a man and a woman asked questions according to new proposals to each other if they are already official. At the top of a staircase a small calling male 'Professor Kickkeriki' (= Warnsinck). The air runs up the 'new IJzerenweg' over which a steam lodge and the 'last lust wagon' are blown up with a bellows direction the moon.
