Lin Huiyin (, by birth ; known as Phyllis Lin or Lin Whei-yin when in the United States; 10 June 1904 - 1 April 1955) was a noted 20th century Chinese architect and writer. She is said to have been the first female architect in China. She was born in Hangzhou though her family had roots in Minhou, Fujian province. From a rich family, Lin Huiyin received the best education a woman could obtain at that time, studying both in Europe and America. She attended St Mary's College in London, and was loved by the well known Chinese poet Xu Zhimo. She studied at the University of Pennsylvania as an undergraduate, and Yale University as a graduate student. She was involved along with her husband Liang Sicheng in the design of the National Emblem of the People's Republic of China and the Monument to the People's Heroes located in the Tiananmen Square. Chairman Mao. (1968). Mao Zedong (1893 - 1976), also known as Chairman Mao, was a Chinese communist revolutionary who became the founding father of the People's Republic of China (PRC), which he ruled as the Chairman of the Communist Party of China from its establishment in 1949 until his death in 1976.

Jiang Qing (Chiang Ch'ing, March 1914 - May 14, 1991) was the pseudonym that was used by Chinese leader Mao Zedong's last wife and major Communist Party of China power figure. She went by the stage name Lan Ping during her acting career, and was known by various other names during her life. She married Mao in Yan'an in November 1938, and is sometimes referred to as Madame Mao in Western literature, serving as Communist China's first first lady. Jiang Qing was most well-known for playing a major role in the Cultural Revolution (1966-76) and for forming the radical political alliance known as the 'Gang of Four'. When Mao died in 1976, Jiang lost the support and justification for her political activities. She was arrested in October 1976 by Hua Guofeng and his allies, and was subsequently accused of being counter-revolutionary. Though initially sentenced to death, her sentence was commuted to life imprisonment in 1983, however, and in May 1991 she was released for medical treatment. Befor

Manzanar is most widely known as the site of one of ten camps where over 110,000 Japanese Americans were incarcerated during World War II. Located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada in California's Owens Valley between the towns of Lone Pine to the south and Independence to the north, it is approximately 230 miles (370 km) northeast of Los Angeles. Long before the first incarcerees arrived in March 1942, Manzanar was home to Native Americans, who mostly lived in villages near several creeks in the area. Ranchers and miners formally established the town of Manzanar in 1910, but abandoned the town by 1929 after the City of Los Angeles purchased the water rights to virtually the entire area. Since the last incarcerees left in 1945, former incarcerees and others have worked to protect Manzanar and to establish it as a National Historic Site to ensure that the history of the site, along with the stories of those who were unjustly incarcerated there, are remembered by current and future genera

Tanin Kraivixien or Thanin Kraivixien (born April 5, 1927 in Bangkok) was the prime minister of Thailand between 1976 and 1977. Tanin studied law at Thammasat University, Bangkok, graduating in 1948. He then went to the London School of Economics to continue with his studies in Law. He graduated in 1953 and in 1958 was called to the Bar at Gray's Inn. Tanin is a highly respected lawyer in Thailand. His involvement with Thai politics did not begin until after the student massacre on the campus of Thammasat University and the following military coup on 6 October 1976. The military named Tanin to be Prime Minister on 8 October 1976. His administration ruled for just one year, until 20 October 1977, when he was deposed by the military. His was the most right-wing administration in Thai history and perpetrated attacks on left-wing activists, communist sympathizers and progressive students due to the fear of communism, which had gained some popularity due to Communist Party of Thailand actio

Kim Jong-il (16 February 1941 or 1942 17 December 2011) was the supreme leader of North Korea (DPRK) from 1994 to 2011. He succeeded his father and founder of the DPRK Kim Il-sung following the elder Kim's death in 1994. Kim Jong-il was the General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, Chairman of the National Defence Commission of North Korea, and the supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, the fourth-largest standing army in the world. In April 2009, North Korea's constitution was amended to refer to him as the 'supreme leader'.He was also referred to as the 'Dear Leader', 'our Father', and 'the General'. His son Kim Jong-un was promoted to a senior position in the ruling Workers' Party and is his successor.

Anand Panyarachun (born August 9, 1932) was Thailand's Prime Minister twice, between 1991-1992 and once again in 1992. He was effective in initiating economic and political reforms, one of which was the drafting of Thailand's 'Peoples' Constitution', which was promulgated in 1997 and abrogated in 2006. Anand received a Ramon Magsaysay Award for Government Service in 1997.

Samak Sundaravej (June 13, 1935 - November 24, 2009) was a Thai Chinese politician who briefly served as the Prime Minister of Thailand and Minister of Defense in 2008, as well as the leader of the People's Power Party in 2008.

Kim Il-sung (15 April 1912 - 8 July 1994) was a Korean communist politician who led North Korea from its founding in 1948 until his death in 1994. He held the posts of Prime Minister from 1948 to 1972 and President from 1972 to his death. He was also the Chairman and General Secretary of the Workers Party of Korea. During his tenure as leader of North Korea, he ruled the nation with autocratic power and established an all-pervasive cult of personality. From the mid-1960s, he promoted his self-developed Juche variant of communist national organization. Following his death in 1994, he was succeeded by his son Kim Jong-il. North Korea officially refers to Kim Il-sung as the 'Great Leader' (Suryong in Korean) and he is designated in the constitution as the country's 'Eternal President'. His birthday is a public holiday in North Korea.

Kim Jong-un, also romanised as Kim Jong-eun or Kim Jung-eun, (born 8 January 1983 or 1984), is the incumbent supreme leader of North Korea, as of 28 December 2011. He was officially declared the supreme leader following the state funeral for his father, Kim Jong-il. He is the third and youngest son of his deceased predecessor Kim Jong-il and his consort Ko Young-hee. From late 2010, Kim Jong-un was viewed as heir apparent to the leadership of the nation, and following his father's death, he was announced as the 'Great Successor' by North Korean state television. He is a Daejang in the Korean People's Army, a military rank equivalent to that of a General. Kim is said to have studied computer science privately in North Korea. He obtained two degrees, one in physics at Kim Il Sung University and another at the Kim Il Sung Military Academy. At 28 years of age, he is the world's youngest head of state.

Abhisit Vejjajiva (born 3 August 1964) is a Thai politician who was the 27th Prime Minister of Thailand between 2008 and 2011. Born in England, Abhisit attended Eton College and earned bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Oxford. He was elected to the Parliament of Thailand at age 27, and promoted to Democrat Party leader in 2005, after his predecessor resigned following the party's defeat in the 2005 general election. Abhisit was appointed Prime Minister of Thailand on 17 December 2008, following a Parliamentary vote after the Constitutional Court of Thailand removed Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat from office. At age 44, he was the country's youngest prime minister in more than 60 years.
