London Jews in Wartime- the work of Youth Clubs in Stepney, London, 1942 A discussion underway at the Meeting of the Stepney Youth Committee and Youth Council, held at the Brady Girls' Club in Hanbury Street, Stepney. This was a joint committee of Jews and Christians. The poster on the table advertises a 'Grand Dance' that is being organised by the Youth Committee for 'the Youth of the Borough'. The dance is to be held at the Drill Hall on Saturday 24 January. Cecil Winston's Band will be in attendance and there will be spot prizes. Tickets can be obtained from any Club in Stepney.

Re-Educating German P.O.W.'s -- Some of the German prisoners of war listening to a lecture on German law. The political Intelligence Department of the Foreign office is working hard re-educating German prisoners of war at the "Pow University" established in Wilton Park, Beaconsfied. German captives, carefully graded after an intensive survey, have become students in an experiment which it is hoped will prove successful and useful to the future of the world. The idea of the Training Centre is to remove the prisoners' faith in the Nazi idea, to prove to them that might is not always right, to show them that the Nazi version of history for the past 50 years was false, and to explain the British way of life and institutions, not as an example to be slavishly copied, butin order that they may see how the democratic theories work. May 15, 1946.

Training Course -- On July 1, 1957, at the headquarters of the South Pacific commission in Noumea, New Caledonia, the formal opening took place of the Health Education Training Course, jointly sponsored by the South Pacific Commission and the World Health Organization. It will last eight weeks. This photo graphs shows the Secretary-General of the South Pacific Commission, Dr. Ralph Clairon Bedell, addressing course trainees and staff members before formerly declaring the course open. On Dr. Bedell's left is His Excellency M. Grimald, Governor of New Caledonia. On his right is the Director of the Course, Dr. Morven Brown, head of the Department of the Social work, University of Sydney. Seated next to Dr. Brown is Mr. Lynford L. Keyes, Regional Adviser for Health Education of the public, Western Pacific Reginal Office of the World Health Organization, Manila, Philippines. July 12, 1951.

Aula magna during the solemn opening session of the 1956-57 university course, held under the presidency of the Minister of National Education, Don Jesús Rubio. With the entry into service of the new building, which was blessed by the patriarch bishop of the diocese, the University City integrates into its campus one more branch of Higher Education, and not, by the way, those with a smaller student population. Its construction has constituted a true "record", since only six months have elapsed since the works began last April until its complete completion.
