The figures illustrated here represent ancient Persians, from left to right: royal umbrella-holder, king, five people of rank, and two warriors. Ancient Persia included much of the land known today as Iran. It flourished from the 7th to the 4th centuries B.C. .

Northwest Caucasian ethnic group native to Circassia, who were displaced in the course of the Russian conquest of the Caucasus in the 19th century, especially after the Russian Circassian War in 1864.
