Letter posted in a suburban box and addressed to Marrickville arrived ***** recently after being seven-and-a-half years in the post. On the face of it is stamped: "Keep Australia Safe - Enlist Now." On the left is the direction: "If not claimed within seven days, please return to Box 3931TT, GPO, Sydney." As a clear stamp shows, it was posted at 7 pm on January 19, 1939. It was received last Monday, as shown by another stamp on the back. The envelope, containing a business receipt, was addressed: "U. A. Pascoe, Esq., 34 Smidmore St., Marrickville. There was no writing or mark to suggest that the address had been queried, or to indicate cause of the delay. July 28, 1946.
