Rafael Salazar Alonso (1895 - September 23, 1936); Spanish politician who played an important role during the Second Republic period. He became the mayor of Madrid and minister of the government. He was executed by the republican authorities, after the beginning of the Civil War. he ordered the banning of the strike called by the agrarian unions of the UGT, in protest at the agrarian counter-reform measures implemented by the radical governments
