The embarkation was carried out in heavy rain and chill winds, but they had no effect whatever on the eager spirit and high morale of the Australians, who were literally "busting to be in it".Australia's contribution to the ground-forces in Korea was voted by experts one of the toughest, most battle-eager groups ever recruited for an Australian expeditionary force. Members of 3rd Bn Royal Australian Regiment, they were hardened by weaks of solid battle-training on the battle-course at Haramura, Hiroshima Prefecture, once used by the Japanese Imperial Army as a toughening ground for tropic fighting. Them boarding the USNS Aiken Victory for the voyage to south Korean base before joining their American and British comrades of the United Nations Force. October 11, 1950.

The 8888 Nationwide Popular Pro-Democracy Protests (also known as the People Power Uprising) were a series of marches, demonstrations, protests, and riots in the Socialist Republic of the Union of Burma (today commonly known as Burma or Myanmar). Key events occurred on 8 August 1988, and therefore it is known as the 8888 Uprising.

On The U.S.-Soviet Border In Germany.Constabulari troopers on road patrol stop to inspect peasants of the vicinity who are about to cross border, in spite of sign which says that road is closed for border traffic. People here have throughout ignored such prohibitions; the fact that they are crossing an international boundary line means nothing to them.
