In the three large accommodations in New York, the only thing that is required of the homeless is that they take a bath immediately after registering and that they hand in their clothes for disinfection and cleaning. In the morning the clean clothes are returned to you.

Lady Stradbroke, formerly Helena Fraser and wife of George Rous, 3rd Earl of Stradbroke, pictured in nurse's uniform at the family home of Henham Hall in Suffolk contemplating the bombs dropped by German aircraft in April 1915.
