"Image of Lt. R. H. Cooper from the Signal Reserve Corps standing next to damaged plane belonging to James Meissner of the 94th Aero Squadron. Meissner's plane was nearly disabled after it was dropped upon by another aircraft while flying over Mets, Germany. Lt. Rickenbacher managed to engage in a fight and successfully destroyed the enemy plane. The photograph was taken on June 18, 1918 in Metz, Germany and passed censorship by A. E. F. on July 16, 1918."
